| | | Casino Gaming Online Today vs. Tomorrow |
| | | What will the online casino gaming be like tomorrow? Will the environment in the United States be as hostile to online casino gambling as it is now, or will we see some sort of leniency with the passage of either the Congress or the White House into Democrat hands? How will an increasingly Arabized Europe react to gambling on its shores in the form of legalized online casino gambling? How will the war in Iraq, and the wider war on terror, affect governments currently either opposed to or supportive of online casino gambling?
These are all questions that need to be asked, because we're talking about an industry that deals in billions of dollars in transactions - going both ways - a year. With nearly 50% of online casino revenues cut off in 2006 thanks to the U.S., online casinos are going to have to switch their focus in a way they might not ever have expected they would have to do so early or so quickly. This could of course be good for them in the end, but given the fluidity of the world's markets any change in one sector could affect many others.
Phones, for example, could affect online casinos or mobile casino planning. There are many proponents in Europe today as well as outside of Europe who are looking to mobile phones as the next big gambling thing. What if the mobile phone bubble bursts? What if suddenly people get tired of their phones? Online casino companies have to be careful they don't jump to conclusions too early, or else they could be in for a not so pleasant mobile surprise.
